小袖子原创故事连载:A Flutter Wings Above The Sky (5-last episode):

The girls stared at Zereus with amazement. He chanted a spell…slightly familiar words, as his lips curled up to the final character.

A bright radiant light surrounded everything. The walls faded away, the cobwebs burned until they were flowers, and the room itself morphed into…the god’s world.

The girls stood and gawked at the breathtaking site. They were walking among fairies, clouds, fountains, plains and of course…The Temple of All.

If you were to take a piece of the cloud and hold it against the palm of your hand, all the evil inside you would be gone, scattered across the fields of bellflowers until they were gone, but if you had visited the temple of Clouds, then not only will you be purified, but the love and life inside you shall stir. Roseene and Rosette set wide eyes against the Temple of All, the temple –Looked- like any ordinary temple, but the feeling, the touch to it was amazing.

A pink light with a tint of yellow surrounded the temple, as if to protect it. And as Rosette put a single finger against the pillars of the temple she could feel herself being refreshed, healed…alive.

“Come now Rosette, we must get to the palace.” Zereus urged.

Rosette put her palm against the golden pillar once more before reluctantly leaving the steps of the temple and back to Zereus. She joined hands with Roseene and they walked past fairies playing harps.

The fairies giggled and laughed, but Rosette and Roseene paid no head to them. Roseene could feel the calm light giving off of Rosette’s hand, so she tightened her grip

In less than a few seconds they were in front of the large towering palace. Zereus pushed the large oak doors aside. Inside was grand. Everything was, the wall was filled with golden paper, portraits of angels and fairies danced about on the walls and the ceiling…it was the sky. The door closed as a gust of wind flew by.

They crossed the hall into an old door, he pushed it aside once more and they walked down everlasting flights of stairs, but they reached in time to avoid Roseene’s complaining.

They padded into a velvet red room and there, high on his thrown was yours truly, King Mandrith.

“Pleasure to meet you girls.” The king stood up from his chair and walked around until he was in front of the girls.

Zereus slithered back into the shadows of the room, waiting, waiting to be summoned.

“Pleasure is ours my king.” Rosette politely grinned as she bowed. Roseene soon followed suit. “It is an honor to meet you my king.” Roseene dipped into a low bow. And both girls stood up and straightened themselves out.

The king grinned in an amused way. “I must say, it is awfully generous of you young ladies to help us.”

“My king, that is in any way no bother to us, we are here to serve the gods.” Roseene stated calmly, her tone matching the king’s expressionless face.

The King nodded again, he did not seem pleased for the guards tightened their grip on their lances and spears and Zereus shifted in the shadows. Time passed like rivers flowing in a stream, for you know, you cannot hold time in the tip of your palm like you can hold water.

“Fine. You girls must now pluck a feather from your wings.” Roseene and Rosette snapped to attention. “A…feather? From…our wings?” Even Rosette paled.

“Yes, a feather must be taken from one of you, we need a human feather to add to the Temple Of All to protect its safety, after all the temple was made from human feathers just as it is made out of ours.

“But from I have learned my King, is that when a feather is fluked from a wing, the wings shall be destroyed and it shall never grow back.” Rosette stated-matter-of-factly.

“That is true Rosette, but that is the way it is done so which one of you will go?”

Roseene stared at Rosette, Rosette stared back.

Rosette sighed. I’ll go, after all, there’s nothing to lose. Once King Ryan attacks, nothing will be left of us. We will all parish into the grains of earth. We will all die. There will be nothing. “King Mandrith, if you state that there is no other way, then I shall volunteer.”

The king nodded at Rosette. “I know there is no other way, if there was then I should have sought of it myself.” He was dead serious now. The velvet room seemed to tremble under King Mandrith’s booming voice.

Roseene objected. “King Ryan, there has to be another way, why must our wings go? Will everyone else’s wings go too?”

“Yes, everyone’s wings shall go, and memories of wings shall be demolished along too.”

“Then Rosette will not do it.” The king raised a perfect eyebrow. “You dare to argue with me?”

Rosette glared at Roseene. “Roseene my sister, I do not need you to make my decisions.”

Roseene took a deep breath. “King Mandrith, when Rosette and I were walking past the Temple of All, I noticed that the place is filled with the pink feeling. And we all know that the Temple of All is never allowed to be pink, the feeling pink means addition to anger, it means, vengeance against the light hearted. Also, the –REAL- King Mandrith announced the first day in life that * when the temple glows pink, it shall begin.* King Mandrith, you announced that yourself, isn’t that right? Additionally, from all the books I have read, the Temple of All is to glow Yellow, the colour of brightness, cheerfulness, and reality.”

Rosette stared at Roseene with amazement. She’s right. Rosette thought, she remembered checking the same books herself, while Roseene was complaining about it.

“Roseene, you never know when you’ll need it.” She told her that day.

Who would’ve thought she remembered all that. Rosette thought again taking a quick glance at her sister.

“My my Roseene, you’ve done your studying.” The king broke out into a grin. “I see you remembered girls! You have passed the test. I need to know if you are trustworthy, and I am right.”

Roseene’s jaw dropped. “T-test?”
The king nodded. “You did it, but I still need a feather.”

Roseene sighed. Rosette just looked the king in the eye and smiled her best smile. If Roseene can remember all that stuff, then I will help us, I will give the last complete feather. With that, Rosette stretched out her wings and plucked a single feather from it and handed it to the king.

Her wings disappeared. Then turned a light shade of violet and disappeared in tingling sparkles.

Roseene stared at her sister with amazed eyes. “So, how does it feel?”
“At least I feel lighter.” Rosette joked.

The king smiled a grateful smile as the corner of his eyes wrinkled in a kind way. “Thank You Girls. Thank You.”

“Your kindness shall never be forgotten.” The king said as he muttered a chant, the words sounded like the ones Zereus has muttered. The King dipped the feather into a glass of blood, and he threw it into the air.

Everything stopped. The breath was sucked out of the two sister’s lungs and everything plunged into darkness.

When light collides with darkness, you never know who wins.
Light – so peaceful, so naive, so innocent
Dark – reality, hitting you in the head, anger, misery, life
Without light, there is no darkness, and without darkness, there is no light.
Without me, there will be no friends, without you, there will be no misery.
When light collides with Darkness
Anything can happen

The girls felt dizzy. The world spun, they could see a hint of light in front of them, as they reached out to grab it, the light was sucked into the blackness…the nothingness…

It was quiet.

The girls were left unconscious.

There’s nothing.

Blackness…

Darkness…

Light.

A pair of lilac eyes opened. At first everything was fuzzy, then blurry and then her sister, the one with the sea blue eyes came into view.

Where am I? Rosette thought as she stretched and stood up.

Soon enough Roseene was awake and she too stretched and Rosette helped her stand up.

“Where are we?” Roseene asked as she lifted her arm up to block the sun’s glare.
“Don’t know, let’s just go home and have a long rest. Agreed?” Rosette grinned, but she scratched her head soon after, “I keep thinking we’re missing something!”
Roseene rolled her eyes. “Yea, your brain!”
“Ha ha, very funny Roseene.” Rosette rolled her eyes too and they both headed towards the setting sun.

“By the way Rosette, ever wonder why we don’t have wings? I mean, wouldn’t it be cool to fly anywhere you want, to feel the wind rush through your hair?”
Rosette rolled her eyes again. “You think up the most stupidest questions Roseene.”

So they joined hands once again and skipped home, never to remember their past life with wings –ever- again.

In the god’s world, Mandrith just smiled. The kind of smiled that calmed you, yet sends chills down your spine.

Close your eyes and free your soul
Close your eyes and let your darkness take over
Close your eyes and feel safe
Close your eyes…come with me.

When light collides with darkness, you never know who wins.
Light – so peaceful, so naïve, so innocent
Dark – reality, hitting you in the head, anger, misery, life
Without light, there is no darkness, and without darkness, there is no light.
Without me, there will be no friends, without you, there will be no misery.
When light collides with Darkness
Anything can happen

最后的结尾是今天才加上去的,比原先的结尾更赋有legendary story 的味道:

Close your eyes and free your soul
Close your eyes and let your darkness take over
Close your eyes and feel safe
Close your eyes…come with me.

孩子可以写到这样已经很不错了. 不知道绿袖子是真想将小袖子培养成作家吗? 那一定是一条很辛苦的路.
