A FLUTTER OF WINGS ABOVE THE SKY (2)
Ever wonder why we don't have wings?
As you can see, the two young sisters were trapped, and so the story begins.
Ryan, King of all Feathers had began to think evilly and to use his wings to do nothing but evil. He had demanded the gods give him magical abilities but the gods refused. They knew Ryan was going to do no good with his new abilities. Hearing this, the king was enraged and decided to attack the most cherished thing in the god’s world, the Temple of All.
Of course, the news spread over the City of Feathers as fast as a gust of wind, and warriors were soon being collected. But one thing that was not revealed to all Feathers was the secret plans tha King Ryan planned to use to attack the gods.
Some Feather’s said that Ryan’s soldier’s were to start the war from an attack from the South of The Temple of All, other’s argued that the attack was to happen from the North, while some just believed that “up” was the place to begin. But still, that was just gossip.
This had given Roseen and Rosette the chance to help the gods. They were becoming traitors, yes, but the two girls believed that having war was very pathetic and stopping it would be the right thing.
So, their dangerous adventure began, well, except for the fact that they are arguing, again.
“We mustn’t use our wings, we swore on the feathers of Ra!” Rosette objected. They had sincerely promised each other that they wouldn’t use their wings for the gods sake.
“We have to! Do you want us to die???!!! Do you??? Besides, they’ll find us sooner or later!” Roseene argued back.
“But WE PROMISED……!” Rosette started.
Roseene scowled. “I told you, we can’t die, we have to help the gods!”
“I guess……” Rosette didn’t even have time to finish before Roseene unfolded her wings, brushing her harshly on the side.
Roseene’s wings were as white as clouds with pink coloured traces highlighting each delicate feather. Her feathers were all neat and tidy, and they smelled like spring flowers. They felt very soft, as soft as cotton, and if you listen closely, you could hear a waterfall rolling softly off rocks.
She tugged at Rosette’s cloak and reluctantly, Rosette too unfolded her massive wings.
You could say they were very pretty and unusual. Her wings normally fitted her mood, and right now she wasn’t feeling too good. Baby blue wings and transparent feathers were unfolded.
Bursting with fierce speed, they soared high up in the air, ready for any sudden movements. Out of the corner of Rosette’s eye, she spotted a black thing……what was if?
She thought for a minute before it struck her……
“Roseene! Watch out, a…a…neeeeettt……” Too late, they were trapped in the bundle.
“Why didn’t you say so earlier??? Roseene sneered at Rosette, as they were being carried to the place they dreaded……the dungeon.
“I TRIED! I SWEAR I DID!” The sister hissed back. “But it was too late! You can’t blame me for not using your eyes!”
The other girl rolled her eyes and mumbled something that Rosette couldn’t catch.
“Oh why oh why did I have to follow her stupid plan.” Rosette cried, “Why oh why……?”
Then all was quiet.
