Getting Phoenix

I can not find how to input Chinese on friend's computer, so I am afraid that I will have to use English. Hopefully I can explain myself well. ;)

It really took us a whole day to get Phoenix.

Since our flight was leaving from Seattle, we had to get up early and drive there from Vancouver. The airport is on the other side of the city so we even set aside extra time just in case of traffic jam. Luckily everything went really well. Traffic was not heavy; Process to get the 10 days parking was not long; No waiting time for the shuttle to the airport; and It was easy to check in. By the time we finished security check, it was only 9am, which was more than three hours away from flying. Sounds too early, eh?:) Hubby seems getting older after his birthday :)), because he starts behaving like my dad now. My Dad, as I wrote earlier in my blog, has to be the first one to check in whenever he flys, otherwise he will be in a panic. All the way to airport, hubby was worried about traffic, our passports, flight tickets... Now, after checking in, he looked very relaxed, reading the newspaper besides the window by the boarding gate.

We need to transfer at San Franscisco. On the plane to SF, hubby and I started working on a number puzzle on the newspaper. It was rated five stars, which, I guess, is the most difficult level. I used to solve those three stars pretty fast, and was commented as a genius according the time I spent:P. However, five stars was fairly hard with less known numbers, and you have to take your guts to guess. Of course, we did not accomplished it during almost the whole trip to SF:'(. We decided to work on it in a later time.

Food at every airport is expensive. In SF, for Chinese food, one entry will cost you $8. You have to pay additional $3 to get one more entry. Compared with SF, the price of the food at Seattle airport is reasonable. The cream chicken with wild rice soup is about $4, which is not bad. So I ended up buying 6 dumplings for $6, and one banana for $1.40, which was my lunch plus afternoon snack :-/ .One interesting thing was, when I asked hubby if he had one dollar in Chinese, the cashier started talking with me in Chinese too ;D. Chinese people is everywhere.

The friend in Phoenix is the former roommate of hubby when they studied in States. I met him when he came to Vancouver four years ago. But, we never met his wife. We have seen her pictures, though. She is absolutely a lovely girl, open minded and good personalities. I am sure we will have a wonderful time together for the next 10 days :p.

The flight to Phoenix was delayed. We were all starving after we claimed the luggage at about 7pm. First we decided to go Szuchuan restaurant, then I changed my mind to Shanghai cuisine once I saw there was one at our destination. It seems that I was not considering myself as a guest, but a Di4 Zhu3 ;) . Anyways, we all liked it, which was great. '~

A lot of cactus are standing right in the middle of the road. This is something that we can not see in Vancouver. It was dark by the time we finished dinner. All the impression to me is the highway system has been well developed. I will keep you posted once I hang out more...
