My disagreement with the outcome of Provincial Court
- A woman’s accident
Mrs. Neufeld was seriously injured in a car accident and sued Druken driver, owner of the car and pub that offered them drinks. The outcome of judgment is that Mrs. Neufeld takes 30% of responsibility, the pub 20% and other two 50%. I have different opinion with this outcome. I think the pub is over charged in this case.

Homework: Tom Will Restore Civilization in his Country (Correction is welcome~)
"The Smile”, written by Ray Bradbury, describes the destructive impact of war, a story that war destroys not only the city’s structure, but also the appreciation of morality and culture. The crowds are queuing to spit on an oil painting belonging to the past, called the "Mona Lisa". In the group, there is a unique boy named Tom, who has all the qualities to restore civilization in his country, as he not only possesses curiosity but also the ability to appreciate beauty and love.
At the beginning of the story, Tom shows his great curiosity about the object they are going to spit upon. He knows from other people that the portrait is “made of oil and canvas” and is “four centuries old.” Confused, Tom can not understand why people hate her. From the dialogue between Tom and Grigsby, readers see Tom’s hidden qualms towards the information he gets from Grigsby and the action he is urged to do. Attracted by that woman’s smile, Tom is eager to see the portrait.

Cultural impact is common to a new immigrant, as well as to Mr.Luria, the father in “The Halloween Party”, written by Miriam Waddingtor. Mr. Luria appreciates his traditional Jewish culture; however, he also accepts new possibilities in life. Mr.Luria’s flexibility results his children an unforgettable memory of a Halloween Party.
In his family, Mr. Luria, a conventional Jewish person, wishes to keep his ethnic traditions and identity. He thinks the Halloween Party is something related to the Christian religion; moreover, he wants his children to know who they are and keeps their original roots and history in their mind. The similarity and difference between Mr.Kapasi and Mina
In "Interpreter of Maladies," Mr. Kapasi and Mina both come from same ethnic group – Indian; they differ in cultural aspects because Mina and her husband are the second generation Indian-Ameran, while Mr.Das is local Indian tourist guide. On the other hand, many things Kapasi and Mina share in common are their lonely feelings and marital problems.
There are several examples of noticeable cultural difference between Mina and Mr.Kapasi. At the first moment they meet each other. “When he’d introduced himself, Mr. Capasi has (had) pressed his palms together in greeting”; on the contrast, Mr. Das has (had) squeezed hands like an AmricanMina “has (had) flexed one side of her mouth, smiling dutifully”. (Page 84, end of 3rd paragraph).
