Ever since I was a kid,
I wanted to be pretty - just like my mother

Ever since I was a kid,
I wanted to play piano - just like my mother

Ever since I was a kid,
I wanted to be an amazing chef - just like my mother

Ever since I was a kid,
I wanted to be silly - just like my mother

Ever since I was a kid,
I wanted to care for people - just like my mother

To my dismay, there were times where my teenage hormones spoke differently.
But my mother continued to love me ever so gently.

Now that i've grown up,
I still want to be like my mother

Now that i've grown up,
I want to BE an amazing mother - just like my mother

Now that I've grown up,
I want to be a (mother's profession) - just like my mother

Now that I've grown up,
I want to be an example - just like my mother

Now that I've grown up,
I want to have perseverance - just like my mother

Now, with great joy, there is one that admire like none other
And so, my love goes to my dearest mother
