Before and After ALPHA

　　有一位先生，在一次聚集中在大家面前读了这份他写的稿。
　　觉得很有意思，征得他的同意，在此与大家分享。

ALPHA….what does it mean?

What does A.L.P.H.A. stand for? I really had no ideas…
So I came up with my own meaning…For me A.L.P.H.A. has a double meaning:

When I look at my life before I took the course…
The word A.L.P.H.A. had somewhat of a negative meaning…for an example:

A…A could stand for alcoholic or addicted…
　　Because I was…to booze, drug and gambling.
A…is also for attitude…I had one of those too…especially after a few drinks.

L…is for lost…I had no direction although I had directions to all the beer stores in town.
L…could stand for longing…longing for a more meaningful life.

P…P is for problems…I had many…most of which I created myself.
P…for poor…poor in spirit… and poor financially…
　　Because it cost a lot of money to support my habits…and poor me….life wasn’t fair.

H…was for hurtful…I seamed to hurt anyone who cared about me…hostile…
　　I become very aggressive and demanding.

A…meaning ashamed…I was often ashamed of what I has said or done…
　　And shamed of the person I had become.
A…could mean absent…I was often absent from work…I was absent from my family..
　　I think in all I was absent from reality.

And then I took the ALPHA course…
　　and ALPHA suddenly had a much brighter meaning ….now：

A…could stand for accepted…because I was accepted by all..
　　I was never judged…I also Accepted GOD as my savoir
A…aware…aware of other peoples feeling…aware of my responsibilities…
　　aware that life had just changed for the better.

L…L now meant lucky…lucky to be alive…lucky to have found God
　　It could stand for LOVE…I finally knew how so many people loved me…
　　and how much love I had for them.

L…is for learned… I learned about he Bible…I learned about Gods sacrifice…
　　How He gave His only child so that my sins may be forgiven.
　　And I thought I gave up a lot when I quit drinking.

P…P is for prayer…I now know how to pray and the importance of it.
P…is for protected…as I always will be.
P…stand for pleased…I can now say I am pleased that
　　I am becoming the person God intended me to be…
　　And P for positive…I now find the positive in every situation.

H…happy…happy to be alive…HELPFUL…everyone has been so helpful to me
　　and my family…I also enjoy being helpful to others when I can…
　　Honest…for me honesty is not the best policy…it is the only policy.
　　Handsome…Hmmmm…How did that get in there??

And finally A....
A could be awakened.... because I woke up to be a whole new world.
Alive....Life is good.
Allow....Allow God to do things his way.
And A.... abstenant....drug and alcohol free for six plus years....

So....to sum things up....before I went to the alpha course....
A.L.P.H.A could have meant:
A(average) L(looser) P(pointlessly) H(Hurting) A(all)
And now I like to think it means:
A(actual L(loving) P(person) H(happily) A(awakened)
